Freight Update #4

Hello Creatures,
I hope those of you who are in the northern hemisphere are keeping yourselves warm during, what feels like, the longest winter in history. Before we begin, we would like to wish our friends celebrating the Lunar New Year, a safe and happy holiday!
Here is the info for today:
Asia and RoW Freight
VFI has received your games. They have begun picking and packing this week. I am afraid that they are not going to be able to send out your games before their holidays. They will get to it right when they get back mid-February. We are so sorry for the delay. But with Covid and the end-of-the-year rush, they just couldn't get it done.
Thankfully the container made it to the port. Here is the proposed schedule for the freight:

It looks like the vessel's new landing date is January 25th. Fingers crossed that it does actually dock that day. We will keep you posted. You can follow the vessel's journey here.

A Note on Language Localization Releases
As we noted in Update #33, November 30, 2021, which you can see here, it is very important to keep our partners in business. We completely missed the Christmas/Holiday season with this game (it was supposed to be ready for all of us to sell). Therefore, we thought it would only be fair to allow our partners to start selling the game as quickly as they possibly could; their survival depends on it. In that update, we got support and understanding from many backers. These are unprecedented times, with unprecedented challenges. Challenges that we have been navigating every step of the way.
Our Korean partner has begun making copies of the retail version available, and there has been some understandable unhappiness expressed from backers frustrated at not receiving their enhanced Kickstarter version games first.
We are not in this business to try to swindle anyone, or cheat anyone. I have honestly been working my hardest to make every single piece of this puzzle fit. While our localization partners have their own shipping lines, the ones that we use have had major congestion (including at the fulfilment stage). We know it's hard to see others playing a game that you have spent a lot of money and time invested in, but we are doing our absolute best to get Creature Comforts to you as soon as shipping realities permit. We appreciate your continued patience.
French Translation
It has been brought to our attention that our French translations in many areas were not of acceptable quality. We were not sufficiently careful with our editing process, and sadly we sent those materials to print. We will not repeat that mistake in the future. We are completing a fresh round of editing and proofreading for the French version. Although the games are already printed and packed, we are going to be including a package of replacement materials along with your games.
Since we are moving into a time when our manufacturer is on holidays for a month, this is going to create an added delay for our French backers. Our manufacturer promised us that they would begin working on the replacements the moment they return to the factory mid-February. Once complete, I am going to send the packages as quickly as I can to our fulfilment partner in France. I am unsure of the extra time it is going to take at this point. But I would rather send you a proper game than a game you cannot understand. We appreciate your patience with this matter.

Asia and RoW Freight
VFI has picked up your games today. They will begin picking and packing next week. I am unsure of their last day of working before the Chinese New Year. But I am fairly certain that they aren't going to be able to get everything out before they leave for holidays. I will keep you posted.
UK Freight
We have a bit more information for you:

I am working on getting the name and number of the vessel so that I can share it with you in our next update.

I was told that they would organize freight for mid-January. I am waiting for an email from them with an actual date.

A Note on Freight
We wanted to thank you all again for putting up with this situation. It is so frustrating as a backer, knowing that your game is just sitting and waiting to be delivered to your region of the world. It's super frustrating as a KS creator as well. Especially when we know we are looking right into the eyes of this worldwide shipping crisis. Today's message to you is an update for only some of you. I will be updating you with information as it comes to me.
AU/NZ Freight
Good news! While Aetherworks was on holidays, they organized to ship your games from Shenzhen to Sydney. Here are the details:

Freight Update and Some Exciting News

Hello Creatures!
Happy New Year to those of you who celebrate! And oh what a year we have in store for you. This is an update to let you know where we are in the freight process and what is next for us.
US/Canada/Mexico/South America/Central America Freight
Amazingly, your games were loaded onto a ship on December 30th, headed for Georgia. Here are the details:
CARRIER: YANG MING LINE (HONG KONG) LTD
VOYAGE: 038E
VESSEL: ULSAN EXPRESS
ETA: 04-FEB-22
From the looks of it, it hasn't made it too far yet. But I am unsure of the route it is taking. I do know that it was supposed to land at another port before moving across the ocean.
If you are a US, Mexican, South American, or Central American backer, your games will be shipped directly from PSI in the US. When they land in Georgia, they typically take a week or two to get from the port to PSI. Your games will be shipped directly from PSI. I don't want to give you any dates yet, as we will see when the games actually get to the port. I will update you once they get to PSI.
If you are a Canadian backer, you know that there is always an extra step for you. We always aim to get games out to you at the same time as the US backers. We have already packaged your games onto their own pallets. This means that they will leave from PSI as soon as they get there. I have asked PSI to ship the pallets before the games start going out to US backers. I will update you once they are on their way to Canada.

EU and European Freight

What's Next
We know that most of you have yet to play this amazing game. But it's landing so well, so far. We just had to get Roberta Taylor, designer of Creature Comforts, to start making the sequel. And she did! While this is still hush hush, Roberta has been working hard to capture that cozy feeling in yet another woodland creature game; it is the next in the Creature Comforts line of games. And it is AMAZING! I can't say much more about it right now. You'll have to wait until April when we have some beautiful art to show you. So for now, shhhhhhhhhhhhh!
